VENLA ILONA BLOM
Venla Ilona Blom is a multi-award-winning
vocalist, composer and beatboxer from Finland.
She has toured around the world with her
internationally acclaimed band Tuuletar and her vocals
have been featured in the Game of Thrones trailer, among the others.
Her debut album NEVRAK was released
in September 2024 with excellent reviews.

NEVRAK invites listeners on a mesmerizing journey through the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness, and to wander freely in Nevrak's world of imagination.

NEVRAK blends the echoes of folk music with influences from iconic artists such as Enya, Kate Bush, and Eivør Pálsdóttir.
The result is an ethereal atmosphere which is rich in vocal harmonies and string arrangements, which is reminiscent of the works of modern classical composers like Ólafur Arnalds, Eric Whitacre, Max Richter, and Vangelis.

NEVRAK is a tapestry of legends, myths, and stories Blom has collected from her travels around the world. The album features unique soundscapes that were recorded over the years in diverse
locations such as the Lofoten Islands of Norway and Kathmandu, Nepal. On this album, Blom keeps exploring universal themes such as the decay of humanism, rootlessness, escapism, and death,
alongside the beauty of life and its incompleteness.

Ms. Blom is based in Helsinki and currently works as a composer, vocalist and performing artist in the field of theatre and film music. She is specialised in extended vocal techniques, vocal percussions and traditional singing styles deriving from Scandinavian and Slavic folk music. She is also trained as a classical singer.

She is touring actively both in Finland and abroad and is available for collaborations with composers, performance artists, conductors and directors world wide.
